Professor Jee In Jang

Dr. Jee In Jang is a Professor Emeritus at Chung-Ang University and Distinguished Professor at Ulsan University in Korea. From March 2014 to February 2017 he served as a Chair and CEO of Korea Accounting Standard Board(KASB) and Chair/Vice-Chair of the Asian-Oceanian Standard-Setters Group (AOSSG). Currently he serves as an Advisory Council Member of IFRS foundation in London.

Prior to joining the KASB, he served as a Vice-president and Dean of the Graduate School of International Management at Chung-Ang University. He also worked as a President of the Korean Accounting Association in 2010.

He obtained his Ph.D. at the State University of New York and taught at Syracuse University in the United State. His research interests are in the area of financial reporting, social accounting and corporate governance. He has published more than 30 research papers in refereed academic journals.

Dr. Jang also played a prominent role in the field of accounting consultancy and evaluation, and worked closely with governments, regulators and companies. He provided independent consultancy services to the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and the Financial Supervisory Service in Korea, and conglomerates such as Samsung and LG. He also chaired the Performance Evaluation Committee of Government-owned Enterprise and Government Performance Evaluation Committee of Korea.
